The Pebble Board. So named as my daughters and I love to pick up pebbles from the beach (much to my husbands dispair!). We love the miriad of patterns you find, no two are the same, just as in the wood grain of our pebbles. The basic shape of a pebble seemed to be the perfect way to frame, and showcase these beautiful little pieces of tree. Each one is shaped around it's unique grain, and each one sanded until smooth like the surface of a stone.
Our Pebble Boards range in shape, size and colour, and with each one you are guaranteed your own little unique piece of natural artwork.
This particular board was made from a beech tree that was felled at Hilfield in Dorset. The colours running through the board are caused by a fungus growing in the tree. These colours and lines are called spalting.
The image you see is of the board that you will receive. The colour may vary slightly from the image depending on your screen settings.
The dimensions of these boards are dictated largely by the grain of the piece. We try to adhere to a basic sizing structure of length being; small 300mm, medium 400mm and large 500mm, but this will vary depending on what suits the board. Each board is 25mm thick with a varying width from 250mm+.
The boards are finished with foodsafe mineral oil and natural beeswax, and is supplyed with a small pot of Timebr Millers board butter and care instructions.
